A Voice not so Silent

I drove home in silence tonight. Sometimes the best music is silence--no noise, no words. A clear night, light traffic, cool air. Waiting at stoplights the only sound around was that of my car running. Even cars beside did not have music playing, for tonight tended to silence.

Sometimes we drown out God with all of our noise. An interference of sorts, intercepting--the call being lost--His voice muffled [if heard at all]. Guard against this, for we must know the sound of our Lord's voice.

John 10:3-5

3The watchman opens the gate for him, and the sheep listen to his voice. He calls his own sheep by name and leads them out. 4When he has brought out all his own, he goes on ahead of them, and his sheep follow him because they know his voice. 5But they will never follow a stranger; in fact, they will run away from him because they do not recognize a stranger's voice.
